Closing and Opening Doors

Posted by on January 12, 2009

I have to be the luckiest man in the world.  Just as soon as one door closes on us, there seems to be a couple of others that open.frontdoor

Our plan is to begin the fulltime lifestyle on the 23rd of January.  We haven’t sold our house and don’t expect much in this economy, but nevertheless, there would be no stopping us.  And then my employers offered me a tantalyzing offer to stay on another three years.  But my life has always been a horizontal exploration from one area of interest to another. There is no finish line to cross, no ultimate destination, no end in sight.  It’s much the way I feel about dancing:  you move around a lot not to get somewhere but to be somewhere in time.  It’s time to dance.  And just as I had decided that we would go, despite any drawbacks, along comes a couple that has decided to lease our home.  To top that off, they want it furnished as is, therefore, we don’t have to store many items.  I sometimes wonder what I’ve done to be so lucky.  So this week it’s finalizing dental appointments, getting the yearly physical, any signs of cancer are not in our cards at this writing and life is good.  Will be back with you this week, while we gear up and begin the packing process once again.
