Navarre Beach RV Park

We spent a week at this facility. It has 71 sites, six of which back right over the beach on Navarre Sound. We stayed at one of these and it was a little pricey but the view from the other sites was not worth an extended stay. The remainder of the sites run parallel in four long rows and the roads between them are all paved. All the sites have concrete pads and picnic tables. There is a pool and a clubhouse with a smattering of activities. The park is clean and well maintained and workamper Ron does and excellent job of trying to accommodate. If you get the chance, hopefully Providence will wait on you in the office as her personality far exceeds all others. I’ll give the park a GL rating of B- due to the fact that the sunsets are so spectacular and if you get a beach site, you’re right there. Personally, I wouldn’t stay if I didn’t get a beach site. Nothing wrong with the park but it just didn’t have the “it” factor for me. My best memories are the friends that we encountered there.

Pontchartrain Landing RV Park was our home for two nights while we took in the sights of New Orleans. It was a short five mile drive into the city. The park is in new hands and still being developed. It has possibilities although it’s location in the commercial district and abutting a boat storage facility leaves a bit to be desired. The rate was great at $27 a night. I didn’t think this was bad given the proximity of the city and the fact that they provided free shuttle service into the French Quarter. The park contains a pool and a jacuzzi and the sites are all level as the park was a former gravel lot that has been upgraded with mounds of mulch embedded with plants and other flora. Here again was no “it” factor but we were just looking for a place to anchor down while we visited New Orleans. We enjoyed our stay here and the staff was most accommodating. Despite its location at the end of a commercial area I would give this a GL rating of a B. I hope these reviews help for any of you in the areas of Navarre, Florida or New Orleans.pontchartrain-landing
