On the Road

“…Two drifters, Off to see the world, There’s such a lot of world to see. We’re after the same Rainbow’s endWaitin’ round the bend,
My huckleberry friend, Moon River and me.”
It’s been ten weeks now since we left home, planning to give living full-time in an RV a chance. We’ve planted here in Longs, SC, right out of Myrtle Beach for some time just trying to see how retirement fits in. I wondered what my quest would be; continuing my search for that perfect photograph, that work of art assisted by a multitude of lenses, or would it be something else, or a mixture of all. Today I’ve discovered its pie. Yes, as American as you can get. The quest for glorious homemade pie, the best there is, no matter where in America it may lead me. Hopefully, the search will also lead to great places to whet my appetite and we can share the never ending quest to satisfy the pallette.

Here it is, the first of June. Last night we went to meet friends, Chris and Jay www.judgedroppings.com for some dinner and drinks at Surfside Beach. Where are all the people. You’d think now that summer is almost here and with the glorious weather, the streets would be lined with tourists, or beachcombers, or even locals. But at 9:30 we were the only four on Ocean Blvd. A local watering hole found the band playing to only our little group. Surely the Stanley Cup Playoffs don’t command that kind of respect…….go Penguins!!!
