"Living on the Edge"

Posted by on June 22, 2008

I am Gypsy Larry’s roommate. Being out of town this week he has left the blogging world to me,trusting me to entice all you blog readers out there to once again come into our lives and get a glimpse of what it’s like to be us. I’m not even sure what it’s like to be us! Hence,”Living on the edge.” Being in our 50’s we’ve come to realize that we can now be qualified as “Seniors.” Oh my God, such a realization like a fairy tale that never really happens. I mean, really, do you ever believe you’ll be a senior? Did you ever see an old couple walking along and think to yourself “I never want to get that old.” Well here we are and it’s not really that bad. It’s just like another chapter in a book. You embrace the changes of life, be it good or bad, and learn how to be. Larry is like a sponge, wanting to soak up every ounce of life that he can and I’m just happy to cruise along. He wants to make things happen and I just want to enjoy things that have already happened. Does that make me lazy ? Not sure the answer to that question. As you know from previous blogs, we are trying our hand at full timing. Now that is living on the edge!Every day brings a new “basket of goodies” you might say. We sit and watch the price of diesel go up and up and up, wondering how in the world we will be able to continue this new life of ours. Among all of our other problems, now we have to worry about this. Is this the right life to choose? Are we doing what is best for us? Of course we are!!!! We are happy. That is the most important thing in life. We can handle anything life throws our way. Our choices may not always be the right one they are ours and we will be content with them. I am not so sure that the decision to go south in the summertime was such a good one though. I like sunshine and warmth but sweltering heat is another story. It turns me into a bitch on wheels. You know that crime rate goes up during heat waves because it makes everyone cranky. I guess you have to get use to it–I’m not sure I can.We are still in Selma,NC at this wonderful campground called RVacation. It’s a nice neat clean place were nothing happens. It has grass and trees though. Being further down south we did not realize how much we missed these 2 things. Shade, oh my God! I truly believe now as my neighbor once said that the sun is over-rated.(He was joking at the time) Now I really don’t believe that, but I am a person that likes alittle rain with my sunshine. Not too many people will admit they like rain but I am one of those people. So for now I am going to blog off and leave you with this–Live life to the fullest, make wise decisions and keep them as your own, love the person whom you consider your soul mate, be a sponge–soak up as much of this life as you can because take it from me—-I’M A SENIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It goes fast.

Good one Sis, welcome to the Golden Years………everything goes South, even you, huh? At least you’re honest enough to admit it. Will be glad when you’re North bound again. Big Sis.

Great first post sweetie. I just love knowing you’ll be able to fill in for me while I’m “on the road’.
